The Argolis peninsula, rich in history and tradition, is one of the most important cradles of Hellenic civilization and is well-known for:

  • The ancient site of Mycenae, one of Argolida’s main attractions today.
  • The Venetian seafront town of Nafplio, which served as the first capital of Greece. Featuring a well preserved fortress and a beautiful old town, Nafplio is ideal for a daily excursion.
  • The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. Famous for its impeccable acoustics, is one of the best-preserved Ancient Greek structures that guests can visit today.

There are lots of “worth attending” festivals and cultural events taking place in Argolida all year round. Therefore our visitors have the opportunity to join or attend the following annual events and festivals:

  • “Miaoulia Festival” taking place in the island of Hydra the last week of June.
  • “Armata” taking place in the island of Spetses the second week of September.
  • “The Athens and Epidaurus Festival” taking place between June and August.
  • The “Pomegranate Feast” taking place in Ermioni town the last weekend of October.

Cycling:
A cycling tour around the spectacular canals, the artificial islands and the magnificent gardens of the adjacent settlement to our resort.
Scuba diving:
The area where ThermeSea Luxury Lodge is situated has no shortage of scuba diving environments. The rocky coastline is rich in underwater reefs and caves, providing nice sites.
Snorkeling:
Just steps away from their suites, ThermeSea Luxury Lodge guests, who love snorkeling, have the unique opportunity to explore the underwater sea life and in particular, the archaeological ruins found at a distance of 30 meters from the seashore line.

The harvest of olive oil is one of the main agricultural activities of Greece and dates back to ancient times. Our guests have the unique opportunity to learn all the fascinating details about the rich farming culture of Argolis along to the authentic and warm hospitality of Thermesea Luxury Lodge.

From October to December guests of Thermesea Luxury Lodge can take part in a daily excursion where they can get in touch with the nature and experience step by step the process of oil harvesting. Roll up your sleeves and spent the day gathering olives in the beautiful fields of our area!

The experience concludes with an olive oil tasting session and a traditional meal full of local flavors of the Greek cuisine.

The oil harvesting experience is available only for a minimum of 4 night stay and during October to December each year.

Ancient
Epidaurus

  • Depart from ThermeSea Luxury Lodge after having breakfast.
  • En route to village of Lygourio (approx. one hour drive).
  • Visit the famous Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus and the Asklepieion, one of the most famous healing temples in Ancient Greece, sacred to the Asclepius, the Greek God of medicine.
  • Enjoy your lunch or dinner in a Greek Taverna (traditional Greek restaurant).
  • Return the same way to ThermeSea Luxury Lodge.

Ancient
Mycenae

  • Depart from ThermeSea Luxury Lodge after having breakfast.
  • En route to Nafplion – Mycenae (approx. one hour and 30min drive).
  • Visit the famous ancient site of Mycenae, home of King Agamemnon that led the campaign against Troy in the 13th century BC.
  • Enjoy your lunch or dinner in a Greek Taverna (traditional Greek restaurant).
  • Return the same way back to ThermeSea Luxury Lodge.

Nafplion &
Palamidi

  • Depart from ThermeSea Luxury Lodge after having breakfast.
  • En route to Nafplion (approx. one hour and 15min drive)
  • Visit medieval Palamidi castle and Bourtzi.
  • Walk through the Old city.

The famous cosmopolitan Saronic Islands

Hydra Island

  • Depart from ThermeSea Luxury Lodge after having breakfast or in the afternoon.
  • Go to Akti Metochi (approx. 10 min by car).
  • Take the ferry or sea taxi to Hydra town (approx. 15 min on sea).
  • Walk through the alleys of the “car free Island” or take the island’s traditional means of transport- the donkey.
  • Visit The Cathedral, the Historic Archive Museum, the Melina Merkouri Art Concert Auditorium “Deste” foundation of the contemporary art.
  • Visit the small picturesque harbor of Kamini village, just 15 min coast line walk from Hydra town.
  • Enjoy your lunch or dinner in one of many Greek seafood Tavernas (tradiotional Greek restaurant).
  • Return the same way back to ThermeSea Luxury Lodge.

Spetses Island

  • Depart from ThermeSea Luxury Lodge after having breakfast or in the afternoon.
  • Go to Kosta (approx. 30 min by car).
  • Take the ferry or sea taxi to Spetses town (approx. 10 min on sea).
  • Stroll around town’s several quarters with elegant mansions and narrow paved paths. Enjoy cycling or walking along the beach promenade.
  • Visit Dapia, the main port of Spetses island, a romantic place surrounded by canons for a day coffee or an evening drink.
  • Visit the Museum of Bouboulina, which is actually the home of the legendary heroine of the Greek Revolution originating from Spetses Island.
  • Enjoy your lunch or dinner in a Greek Taverna (traditional Greek restaurant).
  • Return the same way back to ThermeSea Luxury Lodge.

Poros Island

  • Depart from ThermeSea Luxury Lodge after having breakfast or in the afternoon.
  • Go to Galatas town (35min by car).
  • Take the ferry or shuttle boat to Poros (5min ).
  • Sightseeing – shopping in Poros town.
  • Climb Island’s landmark “The clock tower”, built in 1927 on the highest top of the hill and enjoy the breathtaking view, especially during sunset.
  • Visit the Archaeological Museum of Poros which houses items from the Sanctuary of Poseidon.
  • Enjoy your lunch or dinner in a Greek Taverna (traditional Greek restaurant).
  • Return the same way back to ThermeSea Luxury Lodge.

Festivities – Events

Miaoulia Festival

A week of activities and events depicting how the island has been shaped and influenced by its history culminating in a re-enactment of the sinking of the Ottoman Empire flag ship in the gulf just outside Hydra Harbor. Its major attraction is the night explosions and massive firework display on the Saturday closest to 24th of June.

The Pomegranate Feast

The “Pomegranate Feast” is considered as one of the most successful celebrations in the region. It attracts many visitors and shows to all the famous Hermione pomegranate, while promoting the natural beauty of the area and its tasteful agricultural products, in particular traditional pomegranate-based delicacies and food.

The “Spetses Armata”

A week of activities and events to mark the sea fight between the Greeks and the Turks in the strait between Spetses Island and Kosta, during the Greek revolution of 1821. The festival starts on Monday with a program, including adult and children’s theatre, local Greek dances, music and shows and ends with the “grand finale” night explosions and massive firework display taking place on the Saturday, closest to 8th of September.

The Epidaurus Festivals

The Festival of Epidaurus is part of “The Athens and Epidaurus Festival», the famous annual arts festival and a highlight of the Greek summer calendar. With a legacy that spans more than sixty years, today it incorporates a full programme of music, theatre, dance and visual arts. Performances at the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, built upon the ancient Greek tragedy and comedy plays, are highlights of the festival.
The ancient theatre of Epidaurus is regarded as the best preserved ancient theatre in Greece and famous for its perfect acoustics. It was constructed in the late 4th century BC with a capacity of more than 12,000 spectators.
